8 November 2013 Dear Parents and Explorers After a blustery Bonfire camp we start the run towards Christmas and the end of the year, but we Meerkats do not let our feet off the accelerator! We still have our Christmas camp at Bradley Wood scout campsite; we will be using indoor accommodation and will have a fully packed programme including a full Christmas dinner and Christmas party. The Cost will be 35 for the weekend, permission forms attached. On the 30th of November we will be having our first Explorer International fundraising evening, tickets will be 4 per Child, 7.50 per adult with a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) priced at 20, ticket price will include Pie and Peas, a mince pie and 1 tea or coffee, additional refreshments will be available. There will be a quiz, play your cards right as well as raffles and more. Tickets available from Chris next week. In January we will be attending Wintercamp at Hawkhirst campsite in Kielder. This will be our second year attending and last year the explorers really enjoyed themselves. This is run by headquarters and the cost for the camp fully catered is 50. Permission forms also attached. Remembrance Parade, could I remind Explorers that if you arent attending a Remembrance parade at your local groups then attendance must be at Morley for the parade, following this Tea and Coffee serving at the town hall will be done by the explorers on request of the Royal British Legion. Uniform to be smart Clean ironed scout shirt, school trousers, shoes (not trainers!!), clean ironed and properly rolled necker and wear a poppy it is remembrance day after all. I have also attached our new family information form, this is a very useful tool for the leaders and while you may have had one recently others may not have had this filled in, could you fill this in and return it as soon as possible.
