Reading Students will practice reading comprehension strategies. Our focus this week is using non- fiction texts, primarily about Frederick Douglass. We will continue reviewing the following vocabulary words from our Pilgrim story: anchor, cramped, journey, seeping, settlement, survive, weary, shuddered, huddled, overboard, desperate, plucked, miraculously, lurked, defend. Spelling Week Twelve(-tch, -ch endings) witch, sketch, fetch, match, roach, coach, teach, speech, torch bench, branch, crunch Bonus: slavery, freedom, justice, prejudice Writing - Students will continue to learn continue learning Six + 1 Traits of Writing with a focus on word choice and conventions. This week we are revising our Paul Revere writing. Math Students will review the skills related to the concept of multiplying. We will finish Module 9 and begin Module 10.
Science We will finish our unit on Soil. Social Studies We will begin our historical figure study on Frederick Douglass.
