Newtons Laws Essay In this essay, I will be discussing three examples in which Newtons laws are applied.

The three examples include amusement parks, seat belts, and tectonic plates. The first of Newtons laws states the an object at rest or in motion will remain at rest or in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. The second law states that an objects acceleration is directly proportional to the net force acting on the object and inversely proportional to the mas of an object. The third law states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The first example deals with amusement parks. I think that this example can show all three of Newtons laws. The first law is shown when the car is at rest. It will remain at rest until the wheels and other moving parts(unbalanced forces) move it forward. The second law is displayed when the car is in a downward fall. The more people put in the car, the faster it will fall. Thats suggesting that the cars are let to fall without being controlled by friction or other parts on the roller coaster. The third, and final, laws is shown when the wheels on the car roll backwards pushing the car forward at the same speed at which the roll. The second example deals with seat belts. It mainly deals with the first law but also displays the third law. The first law is shown when you are in a car and moving forward at a constant speed. Because the car is moving, you are, too. So when the car stops abruptly, you keep on moving because of inertia. The point of seatbelts is to stop your forward motion once the car has stopped. The third law is displayed as the car stops. The seatbelt presses you back as you go forward, an equal action and reaction. The third example is tectonic plates which can deal with all three laws. The first law creates earthquakes. When a tectonic plate is in motion, then the only way it stops is with an unbalanced force, such as another tectonic plate. When the two collide, it creates an earthquake. The second law is when a tectonic plate heads toward another plate of more mass, the one with more mass will exert a greater force, and move the other. The last law creates mountains. When two plates are moving towards each other, a force is made and the action is that two plates collide. The reaction is when the crust is pushed up forming a mountain. This concludes all three examples along with my essay. Raegan DuBose
