RELIEF EFFORTS FOR THE VICTIMS OF TYPHOON HAIYAN

The Philippines is going through a difficult time due to the recent natural disaster caused by the super typhoon Haiyan. This devastation has caused the loss of thousands of lives and survivors are bereft of their loved ones as well as all their possessions. A number of people living in Montral wish to extend their help but are not sure of how they can reach out to the survivors. Through the donation of a 40' container by Trans-Pro Logistics, our association, together with other groups, have arranged the collection of relief goods to be shipped to the Philippines which will be received and distributed by Philippine Red Cross, Gawad Kalinga, Sagip Kapamilya, GMA Kapuso and DSWD. We, therefore, ask you to help us fill this container with non-perishable goods, clothing (preferably children clothing), blankets, footwear or any items that you think might be of help. Drop-off points have been designated in Montral until 8 December 2013 as follows:
a) WESTHILL ARENA: 5945 Somerled (corner Royal Ave.), NDG (Saturdays from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM); or b) MONTREAL CENTRES DE SPORTS: 5354 Gatineau (cross street Lacombe), CDN (Sundays 12:00 - 4:30 PM)

If you wish to bring items during weekdays and/or you have no means to bring items to designated drop-off points, please call the contacts mentioned below and arrangements can be made, accordingly. Pick-up will ONLY be for relief items of large quantities, i.e. the size of Balikbayan boxes. These must already be packed in boxes, separated and marked Clothing and Materials and/or Non-perishable goods. Please take note that a cut-off date of 8 December 2013 (Sunday) has been assigned for large-box pick-up.

WE THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SYMPATHY AND GENEROSITY
