Science Observation I observed Ms. Cale today in the science room.

She had numbered green tissue paper balls above the tables. I am definitely going to have numbered groups when I have a classroom. So since it was just the first day because science is one of their rotating GAMS Ms. Cale just went over a lot of the rules. But she covered absolutely everything and seemed to have the students attention. She even went over procedures for how to use the crayons and glue sticks. The crayons you use one at a time then put back after use so that they do not get lost. This makes a lot of sense because Im sure the kids would get would get upset if for instance all of the yellow crayons ran out before they even had a chance to use them. Then with the glue she has the students put the lids in the organizing box in the middle of the table while they are being used so the tops dont get lost. Tomorrow the kids will be making little cut out scientists that look like them. Ms. Cales science will coincide with ours when we start science in the classroom, but we are not quite there yet since Geography and science are rotated in the classroom. I believe science is at the second semester when it begins. Right now the main focus is on Geography unit Im doing with them.
