Materials and/or Equipment: Piano keyboard Rocket Ship Twinkle Twinkle Little Star storybook Trombone Euphonium The following songs on CD: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Clap Your Hands, Shake Your Sillies Out, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Five Little Monkeys, and Three Little Muffins. Activities and Procedures: Anticipatory Set: Sing through Five Little Monkeys Lesson Sequence: Review Itsy Bitsy Spider, focusing on the second verse. Teach Rocket Song, focusing on the motion of the pitch (music goes up and down) Possibly use trombone to demonstrate Read Twinkle Twinkle Little Star storybook Teach Twinkle Twinkle Little Star song Extras: Shake Your Sillies Out Clap Your Hands Three Little Muffins Trombone and Euphonium Closure: Perform any extras if needed and thank students for their participation. Remind students of the fact that music goes up and down. Modifications for Individual Differences: Modify songs, movements, or instruments as needed for students with physical disabilities of any kind. Evaluation: Evaluate performance based on participation and active involvement with the songs and associated movements. Assignments: None
