Markets: The End Wrap

Up…but hardly…

Our bourses recovered from the day’s low in the afternoon trade, to end the day on a marginally higher
note. The benchmark indices pared losses on the back of the Shanghai market paring its losses. The
Shanghai market ended the day with a loss of 2.6% after being down by over 5%.

The Sensex climbed up by about 59.72 points to settle at 15688.47 and the Nifty rose 16.55 points to
reach 4659.35. Both the indices had each gained just about 0.3%.

Buying interest was seen mainly in FMCG, technology and pharma stocks. BSE IT index was the top
gainer among sectoral indices. It rose by about 2%. Heavyweights like Tata motors (7.10%), Wipro
(3.86%), Reliance industries (2.51%), Reliance communications (2.22%) and Grasim (2.04%), helped
the Sensex pare its losses.
