Markets: Mid Session

Our benchmark indices opened the day in the negative zone due to a fall in the Asian
markets. Asian peers were deep in the red today morning. Our indices have smartly
recovered from the day’s low and are trading marginally in the red.

The Nifty shed 3 points and moved down to 4449 and the Sensex was in the red by 31
points at 14981. However, the midcap and the smallcap indices are in the green. The
BSE Midcap is up by 32 points, while the BSE Smallcap index has climbed up by about
68 points.

The US indices ended on a positive note yesterday aided by the news of US


manufacturing growth and Chinese market rebound. Dow Jones went up by 71 points
to end the day at 9,350 while the S&P 500 Index was up by about 11 points at 1007.4.
The Nasdaq Composite ascended 20 points to reach 1,989.2. The FTSE 100 went up by
about 1.4% yesterday, and closed the day at 4,756.58.
