Design Brief

Task: You will submit the following:

• 1 x CD or DVD design - containing design for CD Case (Front/Back) and CD

Print - created in Photoshop
• 1 x Promotional Poster - A4 size - created in Photoshop
• 1 x Folio (can be typed up in word with any hand drawings or notes scanned
in as jpeg images)

Constraints: The use of the facilities at MAGS

• You will have 6 periods of class time to complete this project - 2 x singles, 2 x
doubles.

• Due date: End of double period, August 26th. (3 weeks away)

Profile of Client: The Band is called Pungent Stealth

• They like the colours Red, Black and White

• Music style is Modern Grunge Rock.

• They requested images.

• There are three members of Pungent Stealth; A

singer known as B1, a Guitarists known as B2
and a Drummer, known as B3.

• An Album name is also requested, possible ideas

are ‘smelt not seen’, ‘under the radar’, ‘out of
view’.

• Interests include: music, graffiting trains,

diamond heists, base jumping, bird watching
and playing chess.

• Similar music styles include Nirvana, The White

Stripes, Pearl Jam and The Arctic Monkeys.
Similar Albums:
Analysis: I think that the final product was similar to the requests of the client in
the design brief, the three cd covers were similar to each other but with slight
colour variations. The client requested the colours red, white and black but I also
used the colour purple, which was because I adjusted the hue of an image of
flames. The names B1 B2 and B3 were not as prominent as I would have liked, I
used an image of stacked rocks constantly throughout the posters and band
covers.

Evaluate: I think that in the future I would use different more advanced
Photoshop methods that I could not use in other programs. To do this I would do
tutorials at home and improve my “Photoshopping” skills. I would also complete
this assignment at home more.
