Lubricating grease for Todo-Matic couplings

TODO 6632 BLUE
A premium quality grease for use in ball, roller, needle and plain bearings where extremely low temperatures prevail or where there may be likelyhood of rapid temperature variation from warm to very cold. FEATURES 1. Good low temperature properties. 2. Good mechanical stability. 3. Good resistance to water penetration. 4. Good corrosion resistance. 5. Good anti-wear characteristics. 6. Good low starting torque. This grease is particularly recommended for use in machinery operating in any arctic conditions and vehicles driving in and out of cold stres etc.

TODO 6633 RED

This is a universal grease for chassis and bearings found in extreme circumstances, i e high temperatures. FEATURES 1. Exceptionally good protection against acid, water, salt, dirt, dust, steam and oxidation. 2. Excellent sealing qualities. 3. Excellent anti-wear characteris tics. 4. Extremely good resistance to pressure and heat. 5. Excellent corrosion resistance. This grease is recommended for use in ball bearings, cylinder bearings, sleeve bearings, wheel bearings, conveying belts, chains, motor bearings, centrifuges, universal driving shafts, turntables. It is not flung off at high speed and gives an extra shock absorption.

TODO 6634 WHITE

This grease is a premium quality anhydrous grease for use inn all antifriction and plain bearings found in food processing environments. FEATURES 1. Good mechanical stability. 2. Good corrosion resistance. 3. Good water "spray off" properties. 4. Good impact resistance. 5. Good anti-wear characteristics. 6. God oxidation stability. 7. Good sealing properties. This grease is recommended for use were direct contact with food is not anticipated althouh incidental contact may occur. Applications may include pump bearings, conveyor bearings etc. This lubricat should not be applied to surfaces which are expected to directly contact food i.e. a slab oil. All ingredients in the grease TODO White are FDA listed in guidance with USDA regulations.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION FOR TODO TANK- AND HOSE UNITS

DAILY INSPECTION 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Inspect the couplings surface for cleanliness and corrosion. Inspect the O-ring in the hoseunit connection for serviceability and correct seating in the groove. Inspect the hoseunit swiwel for free rotation. Inspect the tank- and hoseunit for faultnessless and external signs of leaking. Inspect the hoseunit rollers for easy rotation when the hoseunit is connected and for external signs of wear.

THREE MONTHS INSPECTION A. B. C. Exterior cleaning of the coupling halves with a neutral cleanser. Careful "daily" inspection of cleaned units. Refill the hoseunit ball bearing grooves with grease. Our greases are 6632 TODO Grease (blue), 6633 TODO Grease for hot surrondings (red), and 6634 TODO Grease of food quality (white).

FAULTS EXTERNAL FAULTS i.e LEAKAGE due to Hoseunit O-ring (in connection) defective. Remedy: Change to new O-ring. (Note: carefully, without damaging adjacent parts). Tankunit O-ring in the piston defective. Remedy: Change to new O-ring: Remove the tankunit from the tank and unscrew the bottom nut. If the piston does not loosen, tap carefully on the axel with a plastic mallet. Remove the old O-ring from the piston and fit a new. NOTE: The O-ring must not be twisted when mounted. Then mount as follows: piston-spring-cap-tankunit body. Put on the nut and screw until the surface of the tankunit piston levels with the connection surface of the tankunit.

Leakage between piston and piston guide in the hose unit: Remedy: Change the O-ring/sealing ring: Unscrew the four screws and remove the washer. Carefully remove the O-ring/sealing ring, without damaging the sealing surfaces. Fit a new O-ring/sealing ring and mount the hoseunit in reversed order.

If change of o-ring does not remedy the leakage, an internal fault probably has occured. Remedy: see below.

Hoseunit jams when coupling. Remedy: Check rollers. Change of rollers: Demount the protective ring and mount TODO tool for change of roller, art no 6250 by putting the clutches in the outer protective ring groove and turning the the gun-metal nut anti-clockwise to press the piston guide downwards and loosen it from the rollers. The old complete rollers are demounted by unscrewing. If necessary tap carefully the thread axel towards the centre to facilitate the unscrewing. Fit new complete rollers from the inside and also fit the nut and wascher. Then screw until the axel shoulder touches the inner side of the hoseunit body. NOTE: Not any further than to allow the rollers to roll easily! Then remove the TODO tool by turning the gunmetal nut clockwise. Fit the protective ring.

INTERNAL FAULTS:

The tank- and hoseunit must be overhauled by an expert whenever a fault is indicated or suspected.
