Ten Thousand pounds for the Education of the Deprived Children

Southall: Multicultural Welfare


Organisation (UK) held an annual dinner
and dance event celebrating Christmas
and New Year in a luxuriously and tastefully decorated Laguna Banqueting Hall on
Friday December 13, 2013 from 7.Pm till
late midnight in aid of providing
education for the deprived and underprivileged children. The hall was packed to
capacity with over two hundred elite
guests hailing from heterogeneous professions. The event was graced by Mrs.
Rupinder Sidhu and Mr.Sukhdev Singh
Sidhu Minister Coordination High
Commission of India as the Chief Guest of
honour; other honoured guests included
Lady and lord Mohamed Sheikh, Lady
Kanwaljit kaur and Lord Inderjit Singh. The
event was sponsored by Punjab National
Bank
(International).
The
entire
Programme was beautifully punctuated
and flavoured with enchanting Music and
Bollywood dances by team of Tony Patti
and Nitu Patti and delicious food.The task
of Master of ceremonies and stage control
was excellently conducted by one of our
highly talented member Mr Dalbir Singh
Sandhu.
Dr. Haribala (Rani) Kaur Vaid General
Secretary extended a warm welcome to all
the distinguished and honoured guests.
Briefly highlighting the notable work being
done by the organisation requested the
President Mr. Trilochan Singh Sahni to welcome the invited guests and say a few

words.
President Mr.T.S Sahni after extending
a very warm and hearty welcome to all the
guests of honour , the distinguished guests
on his behalf and on behalf of all the executive Committee members said that
todays event is focused on our commitment to raise and donate 10,000/-( Ten
thousand pounds) for providing education
to the deprived and underprivileged children.
Expensive gifts have kindly been
donated by all the executive committee
members for raffle. The money so
raised will go towards this noble cause
winning every one an everlasting smile of a
child.
MCWO (UK) right from its inception
has donated substantial funds to various
charities such as Great Ormond Street
Childrens Hospital Charity, Save the
Children Fund and the British Heart
Foundation (UK). This year alone the
organisation donated Rupees four Lakhs to
Pingalwara Charity in Amritsar for the disabled, substantial funds were also donated
for victims of Syria conflict and natural
holocaust in Philippines. The organisation
takes great pleasure in serving thousands
of guests during celebrations of Indias
Independence Day organised by the High
Commission of India.
During the event the organisation presented a cheque for 10,000/- (Ten
Thousand Pounds ) for the education of

the deprived children to Shri Guru Gobind


Singh ji Welfare Trust in Hazoor Sahib ,
Nanded India which is doing an admirable
and exemplary work for providing education to the under privileged and the
deprived children making a beginning from
a very small building.
Pride of India Awards was presented
to Mr. Sukhdev Singh Sidhu Minister
Coordination High Commission of India for
his outstanding, distinguished, dedicated
and devoted services to the Community ,
greatly improving the consular services
and UK India relations.
Lord Mohamed Sheikh was also
bestowed with the honour of pride of India
Award for his life time achievements and
distinguished, dedicated and devoted services to the community.

Southall Branch was honoured for his outstanding achievements in banking sector
and distinguished and dedicated services
to the Community.
Dr. Haribala (Rani) Kaur Vaid General

Organisation (UK) was honoured for her
outstanding performance in the field of
education and dedicated and devoted
services to the community.
Speaking on the occasion Lord Inderjit
said that it is real pleasure to be here this
evening for this wonderful occasion as it

has been said the Christmas celebrations


and festivities. Sikhs more than anyone
else seem to be better at celebrating.
I like to commend Mr. Sahni and all
the Executive Committee for all the marvellous work that they are doing. I am sure
you all are getting a great deal of satisfaction.
Raffle conducted raised nearly
1500/- (One thousand five hundred
pounds)
Lord and Lady Mohammed sheikh
very kindly donated 1000/- (One thousand pounds) towards this worthy cause.
The president thanked Lord and lady
Sheikh for their generous donation.
The president thanked S. Darshan
Singh Azad for placing a lovely and beautifully wrapped gift in every plate for all the
guests. He said that S. Darshan Singh has
always been a strong supporter of this
organisation.
All the committee members were
thanked for putting in lot of hard
work for making the function a great
success. Laguna management and
staff were thanked providing delicious
food and excellent, loving and caring
hospitality and also providing dinner for
two for raffle.
Bollywood dancers and DJ music kept
the guests thoroughly entertained
throughout the programme and the guests
danced to their hearts content till past
midnight
