Happy Summer from all of us at CIPUSA! We are all settled into our new office in Chagrin Falls, and we welcome you to stop in and visit anytime you are in the area. 2013 continues to be a full and productive year for us. We are proud to share the following updates with you on the second quarter of the year.

CIF's 30th Annual Conference

CIF 2013 Board Meeting


This year's annual CIF Board Meeting in Ankara, Turkey was a chance for the group to review the organization's marketing and public relations strategies. Pictured at right is CIPUSA CEO and President Lisa Purdy, holding up the CIF banner during a session about the group's logo. Each year, leaders from each of CIF's international branches come together to brainstorm and discuss collaborative efforts for future programming. Next year's meeting will be held in Switzerland!

Council of International Fellowship (CIF) is a network of CIP alumni from more than 30 countries around the world. This year's conference was held in Ankara, Turkey, where Nuket Atalay (left) and Guvnor Brettschneider (right) celebrated 50 years of friendship since having met in Cleveland through a CIP exchange program in 1963. Atalay is the former president of CIF Turkey, and Brettschneider is the former president of CIF Finland. Both remain active and retain honorary presidential titles today. Volgograd Comes to Cleveland Again


From May 17 - 25 we welcomed another Open World Accountable Governance delegation from our Russian Sister City. Visits to the city halls of Cleveland, South Euclid, and Solon gave the group a well rounded look at how local governments of various sizes formulate and implement plans for economic development. Other visits included University Circle, Inc., Chagrin Falls Village Hall, Senator Sherrod Brown's office, Neighborhood Leadership

Our newest staff addition recently graduated from Bowdoin College with a dual degree in Environmental Studies and Anthropology. A Shaker Heights native and Shaker Heights High School alumna, Meg is passionate about cross-cultural understanding and will be a wonderful addition to the CIPUSA community! Welcome, Meg!
