A library card is the start of a lifelong adventure Author Lilian Jackson Braun

Dear Friends: 2013-2014 Board of Directors: Nancy Roche, President Jeff Horner, Vice President Mary Ford, Secretary Paul Fellinger, Treasurer Sherry Beckwith Dan Larson Cindy Cross Kelly McDonald Please help us to explore what is possible and achieve what is thought to be impossible. Hard work and time goes into the running of the library and its' programs. In 2013 funds were raised through your donations to programming, Business Partners, continued support from the Town of Mina and sale of Ceramic Fish created by local artists (20 available for adoption). Grants have been secured from the Findley Lake Community Foundation, Representative Cathy Young, and New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization programs that help provide programs for the summer recreation/reading programs, cover fees for art programs and Jamestown Community College computer classes. In addition, the library wrote a grant for a Field of Interest Grant to go toward a Cooling Center that is in the Young at Heart room. These funds help in our efforts to provide exciting and meaningful experiences to all who utilize and visit the library. We are fortunate that we can rely on those of you who recognize our value to the community and hope that you will continue to support our efforts again this year. Enclosed you will find a giving card. Please complete it and return it to us in the mail, or drop it off at the library to check out what is new and exciting at the Alexander Findley Community Library! Thank you for your time and consideration of a donation to your local library! Sincerely, Alexander Findley Community Library Board of Directors The seasons are changing again, winter has moved into our community of Findley Lake. With the colder days and evenings upon us, why not come visit your local library, the Alexander Findley Community Library, and warm up with a good book or movie. AFCL has had a successful 2013 and is eagerly looking forward to 2014 as we continue to serve our AFCL friends. We are extremely grateful to our patrons and supporters who allow us to continue our mission of Creating opportunities for learning and sharing. Over the last 12 years the library has continued to grow and flourish with programs for all ages. Summer concert series, childrens story times, reading programs, st orytellers, puppet shows, art and computer classes, dinners and craft shows are a few of the programs that have been offered to our community. With the Christmas season fast approaching, authors want their books out in the stores and on the library shelves, this has kept the staff and volunteers busy adding dozens of new books and authors each month. Our programs, activities and classes could not be accomplished without the hard work of our staff, volunteers and the many supporters that have been faithful over the years.
