1.4 Aim and Objectives of Statement This study aims to investigate the ability of Piper nigrum L.

as a corrosion inhibitor for mild steel. In order to solve withstand of mild steel in seawater, the inhibition method is used. To achieve the aim of this study, the following objectives will be established:

I.

To determine the rate of corrosion of bare mild steel inhibited with Piper nigrum L. extraction.

II.

To investigate the performance of bare mild steel in presence of Piper nigrum L. as an inhibitor.

III.

To study the characteristics of Piper nigrum L. as corrosion inhibitor.
