New Student Teacher Interview Questions for the West Ottawa High School Paper- Ms. Kay 1.

Where were you born? I was born in Farmington Hills but actually lived in Dearborn Heights until I was 4. 2. Where are you from? Although I lived in Dearborn Heights and Traverse City when I was younger, I spent most of my time living in my hometown of Livonia. 3. What high school did you go to? I went to Stevenson High School in Livonia, MI. 4. What college are you attending? I am currently finishing my fourth year at Grand Valley State University. 5. When did you decide to go into teaching? Why? When I was in high school I worked in a preschool and was a science tutor after school. I really loved working with all of these students and wanted to have a career in which I could work with students all the time. Because of this and my amazing experience with my own high school science teachers, I decided I wanted to be a science teacher. 6. What subject are you planning to teach? I plan to teach chemistry when I graduate, but I will also be certified to teach psychology. 7. What are your goals? My ultimate goal is to teach chemistry at a low-income school in the inner city. I would love to work in Detroit Public Schools. 8. Have you always wanted to be a teacher? For most of my life I have wanted to work in the school system. However, it was not until high school that I decided I wanted to be a high school science teacher. 9. What is your favorite thing about student teaching at West Ottawa so far? My favorite thing about student teaching thus far is how nice and friendly all of the students and teachers are at West Ottawa. 10. What did you expect about student teaching her at West Ottawa? Did what you expect happen? I expected West Ottawa to be very similar to where I went to high school and so far they are. I did not expect West Ottawa to have as many snow days as they had though so that was very surprising to me.

11. What are the three most surprising things of student teaching? Besides all of the snow days, I am not really surprised by a lot of things that have occurred during student teaching. 12. What are two things that most students would be surprised about you? Two things that most students would be surprised to learn about me are that I have an older sister who everyone thinks is my twin and I have two different colored eyes.
