CMR 900, THE INDISPENSABLE REFERENCE ON ANY MAKERS LISTS

A GREAT COMBINATION OF ECONOMY AND SECURITY Modularity and compatibility were the key factors in the conception of the CMR 900 alarm, monitoring and control system, to make it as flexible and economical as possible. The CMR 900 system is specified according to requirements, utilising remote acquisition and control units, centralising units, alarm relay units in crew rooms or cabins, display modules and supervision stations. The distributed architecture optimises the systems security and allows for degraded operating with the possibility of a direct read-out from the acquisition units thanks to a portable module. COMPATIBILITY COMPOUNDED WITH ADAPTABILITY Designed as an open system, the CMR 900 can interface with most other systems on board, compliment or replace all or part of another existing system. It can also expand as demands change due to an increase in capacity or change of requirements. In all events, CMR engineers will ensure the optimal coherency and performance of your entire alarm, monitoring and control system. THE IDEAL SYSTEM FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM SIZED INSTALLATIONS CMRs 900 modularity and capacity for managing up to 2000 channels of input / output data make it the system best adapted to medium-sized vessels such as: - Bulk carrier / Car carrier - Container - Tanker - Dry Cargo - Fi s h i n g - Tug - Reefer - RoRo - Ferry - Offshore / Offshore supply - Mini Cruiseship
APPLICATIONS/FUNCTIONS - Acquisition of analogue and logical (binary) parameters - Monitoring of main and auxiliary engines - Power management - Control of ballast and bilge - Control of pumps and sluices - Control of ventilation, heating and air conditioning - Measuring of levels - Monitoring of refrigerated containers - Temperature regulation - Logical sequential control - Status logging - Manoeuvre log - Archiving - Relay of alarms to cabins with reiteration of alarms OPTIONS (with additional equipment) - Control of main engines - Fire security - Load calculator - Remote communications

A CHOICE BASED ON TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS, SECURITY AND ECONOMY

Whether installing : - a new, complete and homogeneous system on a non-equipped vessel, - to replace an outdated system (as with Year 2000 obsolescence), - to replace an obsolete or defective system, - to integrate new functions within a pre-existing system, the CMR 900 will provide total coherency and ease of maintenance generating lower operating costs thanks to total mastery of the measuring channel. ADAPTABILITY, MODULARITY AND EASE OF MAINTENANCE With the CMR 900, the maximised decentralisation of the acquisition and control functions leads to a substantial reduction in cabling costs. With its modular design, it is the made to measure system par excellence. Essentially dedicated to acquisition, the CMR 900 is also designed to carry out the control functions performing as a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) since it can carry an operations software at each individual CMR 900-41 local unit. CONCENTRATION, EVOLUTION The multi-task real time heart of the CMR 900 allows for various applications such as the management of alarm extensions to cabin, status logging, archiving (black box), streaming alarms etc. With the standard version, the CMR 900 uses a proprietary network for the local units (acquisition, control alarm relay) and an Ethernet network from the centralizer to the supervision stations. However it is possible to communicate with other types of network, notably the CAN field bus. CMR can study and carry out all the types of communication classically encountered in the world of monitoring and automation. intelligence). It is then possible to visualise the status of all the channels and/or configure them with the CMR 900-44 portable unit. In the event of a failure on a CMR 900-41 local unit, the outputs of the unit failsafe as defined by the user. A synchronisation network option exists, allowing for a chronological positioning of events occurring on the different CMR 900-41 acquisition units. The galvanic isolation, by groups of 8 channels, provides for rapid localisation of possible insulation defects. The continuity of the input line is permanently monitored on an individual basis. ERGONOMICS, COMFORT OF USE Supervision is clear and intuitive so that even non-specialist personnel can easily interpret information on the screen : mimics are designed to facilitate decision making, and navigating in the software is aided by scrolling menus. The pages on the screen are developed specifically for each vessel in conjunction with the buyer / user. Each channel can be configured, either from a supervision station or a CMR 900-42 centralizer or a CMR 900-41 local unit, using a CMR 900-44 portable unit via an RS232 link in the latter case. The acquisition cards do not have a hardware adjustment and can thus be replaced without any need for configuration or additional adjustment (cards of the same type). Two sets of different parameters are associated with each input. This is particularly interesting for monitoring dual-fuel engines. Four absolute thresholds are associated with every channel. The user can adjust the value, direction for action, hysteresis and delay time. They can also be configured to a gradient threshold. Moreover, 4 said deviation channels associated with a variable (calculated) threshold are available with the CMR 900-41. The cabling is simplified by modularization and decentralisation.

SECURITY, RELIABILITY The network between the CMR 900-41 local units and the CMR 900-42 centralizer has built-in redundancy. In the event of a failure with one of the 2 networks, a single network is sufficient to operate the system and upon failure of both networks, the CMR 900-41 units continue to operate normally (remote

A MODULAR SYSTEM MADE TO ORDER

With 7 different types of modules, which can be linked together in a network, it is possible to define the system best suited to the needs and requirements of each vessel.

CMR 900-41 ACQUISITION AND CONTROL MODULES Local units for data acquisition and control Input/output : 32 analogue channels / 96 binary channels or combination of both. Compatible with all types of sensor. Compact and lightweight, these modules can be installed in the engine rooms, close to the sensors and can function autonomously in the event of the loss of the network. In the event of failure of a module the outputs take on a failsafe position. An RS232 link provides for connection to a CMR900-44 portable for local visualisation of data and configuration. CMR 900-42 CENTRALIZER MODULES These units are for regrouping, storing and transmitting data from the CMR 900-41 modules to the supervisor (CMR 900-70 or other model). With their large capacity they can manage up to 10 CMR 900-41 modules. They also manage the alarm relay boxes. These units are compatible with the Ethernet network and can transfer data onto other systems.

CMR 900-43 DISPLAY AND CONFIGURATION MODULES Fixed units with large size display of parameters for optimum legibility even at a distance of several meters. With its scrolled menus and overall simplicity, configuration operations are made extremely user friendly. CMR 900-44 PORTABLE MODULES Portable units for reading and configuration, specifically designed to give increased flexibility and freedom of action in operations such as start-up, maintenance and local monitoring. No larger than a memo-pad and directly connectable to the CMR900-41 and CMR900-42 modules, these small units are lightweight and portable, therefore easy for maintenance personnel to carry. CMR 900-46 ALARM RELAY MODULES Small alarm relay boxes, designed to be installed anywhere on board : cabins, mess rooms, rest rooms etc...Any incident detected alerts the duty watch officer immediately wherever they are.

CMR 900-70 SUPERVISION STATIONS A real workstation designed to supervise the entire system and to manage the peripherals : printer, modem etc... Using a certified PC compatible with Windows NT, it displays, manages and controls all the functions available within the system, with simplicity and clarity. Using the Ethernet network the CMR 900-70 is compatible with most other systems on board, communicating via this type of network.
