Back On Broad Street

Crooked River Artisan & Antique Co-Op

After founding the Susquehanna River Archaeological Center of Native American Studies (SRAC) at 345 Broad Street, Deb Twigg and partner Susan Fogel became interested in further developing downtown Waverly. So when the building across the street (that formerly housed the Village Hall) became available, they bought it and converted it into display and office space. The Crooked River Co-op opened in early October 2013, and is jam-packed with artisans and their wares, and antiques being sold by local antique dealers. Besides the Crooked River Co-op, the building also houses a research library for SRAC, and there are plans for other businesses as well. TEAOGA Development, also located in the building and owned by Deb Twigg, focuses on helping local small businesses thrive, and in that vein creates logos, does print projects (brochures) and builds websites. Deb feels that the best way to help a small community is the stone soup approach, where everyone throws in something to contribute and add flavor to the finished project.
