Kennon Southeast Cu-Au deposit (Black Mountain)

Location:
Baguio District, Benguet Province, Cordillera Administrative Region, Luzon, Philippines. Latitude and longitude is 16 22' north, 120 36' east.

Geology: Lithology is Quartz diorite porphyry. The stratigraphic relation is that it intrudes Pugo
Formation and Zigzag Formation in the Baguio area, distributed along Black Mountain, Camp 6, Kennon Road. Age is Late Miocene Pliocene

Size/Volume of ore: The quartz diorite consists mainly of plagioclase, hornblende and quartz some
occurring as phenocysts ranging from 0.5 mm to 12 mm set in a fine-grained groundmass of the same minerals. These quartz diorite bodies are associated with porphyry-type copper deposits in Black Mountain mine in Camp 6 below Bued River, Philex Mine, Sto. Nino Mine as well as in Lepanto Mine (Far Southeast Deposit) and other places.

Production history: Discovered in 1966. Two ore bodies mined UG 1969-1983 (14 Mt @ 0.40% Cu
+ 0.30 g/t Au). Total known resource of 65 Mt @ 0.40% Cu + 0.38 g/t Au
