Have students open up the Wunderlist app on their tablets. Instruct them to list all of the modern day Olympic events that they know. Have them take a screenshot of their lists when they are finished

Aligned Learning Activity

20 mins Have students research Ancient Olympic events and list them in their Wunderlist apps. When they are finished with their lists, have them take a screenshot of this list. Use the remainder of the time looking up the structure of the Olympic games. 10 mins Have students create a Venn Diagram on a piece of paper, with one circle labeled Ancient Olympics and the other Modern Olympics. Give them about 10 minutes to compare and contrast the two lists that they have made screenshots of. 5 mins Close lesson by having students share their Venn Diagrams with a partner and talking about how the ancient/modern Olympics are the same and different.
