ABSTRACT

The purpose of the Adjustable Bed Flow Channel experiment is mentioned to measure the flow velocity of the liquid sample by using pitot tube, to measure the velocity profile, to now the application of continuity equation, and to use contraction as a means of measuring flow! "n the measurement of fluid velocity with the pitot tube with flow rates #$% & ', () and )( *+minute, local velocity is measured in section ( with the variation of height of the bed #, (% & -., (., /., 0., 1., )., .., '., 2. and --. mm, for the experiment of velocity profile with flow rate #$% & ', () and )( *+minute, local velocity is measured at the points y -3 & y/3 & , -), /), 0), .), ') and 2) mm and y(3 & 4, -(, -2, (1, /1, 04 and 0. mm, afterwards, for the experiment of application of continuity equation with flow rates #$% & ', () and )( *+minute, local velocity is measured in section - and section ( with the variation of the height of the bed #,(% & ). mm, for the last, to measure the current of the flow by using contraction with flow rates #$% & ', () and )( *+minute, the height of the pie, ometer is measured at section - and (! The conclusion for this experiment is the greater the flow rate is given, either the local velocity or the average of the velocity will be higher, the local velocity will be greater if the height of the bed #,% is increased, the greater flow rate will provide the irregular flow pattern #turbulent%! 5ercentage of the average errors for this experiment with flow rates #$% & ', () and )( *+minute are consecutively 1-,42' 6, 0/,.(0 6 and 01,0(0 6! eyword 7 pitot tube, velocity profile, continuity equation, local velocity, adjustable bed flow channel
