Reader Response Letter #2 Dear Class, In this section of Understanding Rhetoric, it talks about what exactly research is and how to correctly and effectively evaluate sources. Throughout this chapter there were a lot of helpful tips on research. One of the more interesting parts was the difference between primary and secondary sources. I did not know that there were different classifications of sources. One aspect that I have struggled with is citing and using sources correctly. On page 188 the author talks about summarizing and paraphrasing using your own words. But I struggle with knowing whether or not to cite something, but as I read through this chapter I found that it is better to just be safe and cite the source. This reading helped with understanding the importance of a reliable source. One page 188, the author talks about reading your sources thoroughly and completely to make sure that the sources are reliable. This reading is relevant to our English class with us beginning a project that includes a lot of research.
