In 2009, Mawlana Motiur Rahman Nizami was named
as one of the top 50 Most Influential Muslims by
USA based prestigious the Royal Islamic Strategic
Studies Centre. He is the elected Ameer (chief) of
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (Jamaat), the largest
Islamic organization of Bangladesh, for the session of
2010-2012. He was also elected as Ameer for the
consecutive sessions of 2001-2003, 2004-2006 and
2007-2009.
