!verall I thought my planning and preparation for my second
lesson went e9tremely well. For e9ample since we were doing a
round robin tournament I had brac-et printed out of what teams
would be playing each other what round. I printed out multiple
brac-ets with different amounts of teams >ust in case there were
couple of students absent I wouldn?t have to rearrange the entire
brac-et. !ne area I could improve on was having the students
report the result of their games. I should have nominated a captain
for each team and had the captain report the score to me at the end
of the game.
&. 'esson (ontent
*y lesson content was very accurate I thought. I did a good >ob of
e9plaining the rules of the tournament and how there was no
elimination in a round robin tournament. An area of improvement
would probably reviewing some of the s-ills. Instead of >ust
e9plaining the rules of the tournament, I should of as-ed the
students what types of shots or strategies they might use during the
tournament.
). "ransition/(lassroom *anagement
*y transitions and classroom management was probably my
strongest aspect of this lesson. I did a really good >ob of having my
brac-et organized with what teams were playing what teams and
the records of each team. I also did an e9cellent >ob with pointing
out what courts each team would be playing on. !ne area I could of
wor-ed on, which I tal-ed about earlier was designating a player
from each team to come and tell me the result of their game instead
of having every player come over and tell me.
+. (ontent Delivery
I feel that my content delivery of the lesson was pretty good. "he
entire lesson there was music playing in the bac-ground so I really
had to pro>ect my voice loudly when giving out instructions.
!verall, I thought I pro>ected my voice really well and the students
were able to hear me at all times. An area of improvement would be
tal-ing about what strategies the students could use during the
opening and not >ust during the closure.
,. Feedbac- given by you to the .tudents
@iving out feedbac- was definitely the wea-est part of my lesson
this wee-. I felt that I was pretty good with my feedbac- in the
beginning of my lesson, but as the lesson went on I gave out less
and less. !verall, I >ust really need to be more consistent with my
feedbac-. Ne9t wee- my goal will definitely be to give out more
feedbac-#
/. Feedbac- you received from (ooperating "eacher
.ome good feedbac- I received from my cooperating teacher was
that my lesson was e9tremely organized and really well thought out
with good transitions. Also, that I had good 7uestioning in my
closure going over strategies and my mobility was e9tremely good.
Area of improvement would be my giving out more feedbac-, both
positive and corrective.
A. Final %aragraph
"he most important thing that I learned today was that when having
a day for a tournament you need to be prepared, organized, and
mobile. If youBre not prepared with multiple brac-ets and you have
a couple of students absent then your whole tournament gets
screwed up. Also, if sometimes have a bad record they may begin
to slac- off and be off tas- so it?s your >ob to be mobile and aware
of all the teams playing.
