Grade Adventure
Buddies
Dear Parents,
As a way to create positive interaction between peers of different grade levels, your child has
been paired with an Adventure Buddy in Miss Neepers 1
st
grade class. Both Miss Neeper
and feel as though by sustaining this relationship, there will be !any positive benefits for both
the first and si"th grade students.
#or e"a!ple, over the past few wee$s, si"th grade buddies have been and will continue to !odel
positive school and classroo! behaviors. %e feel as though establishing and !aintaining these
relationships will allow both classes to beco!e accountable for their behaviors in and outside of
the classroo! setting.
&he students have been loo$ing forward to receiving buddy letters wee$ly fro! their first grade
partner. n turn, the first graders are wor$ing hard on their writing s$ills by writing wee$ly
responses to their buddies. 'n %ednesday, we introduced the concept of (buc$et filling) to our
students. &his lesson !odeled positive peer interactions and encouraged students to treat each
other with $indness and respect. &he students en*oyed brainstor!ing ideas about the character
traits that a buc$et filler possesses+
Miss Neeper and plan on having our buddies !eet each wee$ to read, write, or discuss relevant
topics that are happening in our classroo!s or school co!!unity.
Please as$ your child about their e"perience so far with their Adventure Buddy. %e hope that
they are en*oying this e"perience, and are e"cited to grow with their buddies this year+
Please let us $now if you have any ,uestions or concerns.
&han$ you for your support,
Ms. Dussinger
