We have been going to church with the whole school for two weeks now. The
preschool students are getting the routine of genuflecting at the beginning and
end of church. Everyone is making an effort to participate during Mass by
following the gestures of the older students and teachers. This week the
middle school students dressed up like Saints and talked about the Saint they
researched. It's always nice to see students take an active role in Mass and
gives us something to look forward to when we are older.

This week's story was a rhyming book called

"Mrs. McNosh and the Great Big Squash". It is a
funny story about a squash that grows as big
as a house. You can help your child build their
recall skills by asking them about the book. Ask
your child to tell you what happened to the
great big squash at the end of the story! This week we worked on tracing lines in
different styles - straight, bumpy, zig-zag, curvy.
Practicing these different techniques lends itself
to writing the letters of the alphabet. The better
we get at making these lines, the stronger our
letter writing skills become.

In math this week we worked on

putting numbers 1 - 10 in order. We
are working on recognizing written
numbers.
We also continue to work on patterns.

We wrote letters to our prayer partners this

week. We introduced ourselves and told our
prayer partner special things about ourselves. It
is always so wonderful to watch the students
develop a relationship with their prayer partners.

This month we will be focusing on being

thankful, families, and the holiday of
Thanksgiving.
