How Stonehenge

relates to geometry
By Cole Miller
Why this topic interests me
This topic interests me because when I went to London
I saw Stonehenge.
The topic interests me because I saw how large
Stonehenge was.
I think that this topic is very interesting because I think
it has a lot to do with geometry.

How does Stonehenge relate
with geometry
Stonehenge contains a complex 87 meter diameter
circle that has a 56 pointed polygon.
The outer polygon was made using circle and square
geometry.
Inside the 56 pointed polygon there is a 40 sided
polygon and then a 30 sided polygon.
The builders of Stonehenge made Stonehenge 2000
years before Pythagoras was born, which means that
Pythagoras did not invent geometry.
How Stonehenge Relates to
Geometry
Stonehenge use to be a giant circle before it was
destroyed.
The creators of Stonehenge made it so that there were
accurately created polygons which included hexagons,
pentagons, circles and squaress.
Before Stonehenge was destroyed there was a perfect
circle of stones that surrounded the outside of a
horseshoe shaped rock configuration.

History behind Stonehenge
Stonehenge was created around 2500 b.c.e
People in 2500 b.c.e had to transport 50 tons rocks 200
miles to build Stonehenge.
It took 1500 years to make.
No one knows why Stonehenge was built but scientist
think that it had something to do with the sunrise and
sunset patterns of the winter and summer.

Fun facts
Scientist say that it took about 30 million hours of labor
to construct Stonehenge.
Stonehenge is perfectly aliened with the midwinter
sunset and midsummer sunrise.
No one knows the real reason Stonehenge was built.
Stonehenge was constructed 300 years before the
pyramids were built.
