Distributive Property:
2(3+5)=2x8
This property is where you are
distributing the outside
numbers inside the parenthesis.
Commutative Property
of addition/multiplication
2+3=3+2 and 2x3=3x2
This property is where the order
of the numbers changes but you
get the same answer.
Associative Property
of addition/multiplication
2+(3+4)=(3+2)+4 and 4(2x3)=(4x3)2
This property is where there are
different groupings but it does not
change the answer of the problem.

To simplify the equation: 4(7x-3)+2x you will
first need to do the distributive property.
You will then get 28x-12+2x. Now combine
like terms. You now have 30x-12. this is
shortest you can simplify this expression so
this your answer.

To solve the equation: 7x-10-9x=-13 you will
first need to combine the like terms. After
you have done this you will have -2x-10=-13.
Now you should add 10 to each side. Now you
have -2x=-3. Divide both sides by -2. you end
up with x= . Now you have to simplify and

first need to make common denominators.
After you have done this you will now have
5x+2x-3=11. You now need to combine like
terms. Now you have 7x-3=11. Add 3 to each
side and you will get 7x=13. divide both sides
by 7 and get x= . Now you just need to

will first need to multiply each side by -5.
You will then get -10<x. You will probably
want to flip it around so it will be easier,
but since you just multiplied the positive 2
by the negative 5 the sign will stay the same.
