While at Herndon, I have worked as a teacher in both first and second grade. I was
chosen to represent the school as Teacher of the Year for the 2012-2013 school year,
and I am currently representing Herndon as a teacher leader.

I worked at Vivian Elementary School in both regular and special education settings
teaching both kindergarten and first grade.

As a substitute teacher, I gained experience in many educational settings, including
middle and high school classrooms.

1999-2001
While working as a reporter for the local newspaper, I developed effective
communication and writing skills. I also built a strong foundation in using technology
to convey a message.

I have taken 18 additional graduate hours in order to further develop my use of

I earned a Master of Education degree in the Spring of 2004 and maintained a 4.0
grade point average in the program.

changing my major from journalism to education.
