PTA Board Meeting Minutes

May 13, 2014

Raymore Elementary School Library




Call to order by Joanna Clark at 6:01. A quorum was present and the secretary was present.

Minutes from April 8, 2014 were approved as written.
Treasurer report: Balance $18,471.96
Will need 3 people to for the annual financial review, anyone interested let Kristi know.
This years Summer Passes will be done electronically; the school will get $5.60 for every $16 spent. Next
Thursday is the deadline. Kristi will send information to Renee and copy Michelle for distribution.
There is $375 in the learning garden and can spend it before June.
Teacher grant balance will rollover.
A Spirit Wear order has been placed. Kristi moved to move $200 from Mother Daughter night expense and $200
from Family Dance to Spirit wear expense. Maria second it.

Principal report:
Most 3
rd
& 4
th
graders are done with the MAP. It was great to see the support from everyone.
Teacher appreciation was very much appreciated; many of the staff commented their appreciation.
Field Day May 30
th
: Need volunteers and they can sign up thru sign-up genius or just let Mr. Heil know; the
structure of it will be as before.
Going over dates for next year and would like to join forces with PTA to set dates now or in June.
The district will be providing PSE training and Raymore Elementary will have a lead team going this summer for
the training.
For the upcoming school year we will be implementing a program called Compass classroom which is a designed
instruction for every childs need.

Old business:
Committee reports: Are still needed to be sent to Maria if you have not done so to inform if continuing to chair
and to voice any idea and tips.
Teacher Appreciation: Door decorating went well but would like someone to chair just the door decorating.
Teachers mentioned liking it done at the beginning of the year. Budget committee may consider increasing the
budget from $1500 to at least to $2000.
New business:
Watch DOGS team: 3 People will be Co-Chairs Todd Kudron, Tim H. & Jeremy Akers (Ali will still be around to
assist.)
Office transitioning meeting: To be scheduled as soon as possible May or June
Committee reports:
Upcoming May BOGO book fair (5/19 & 5/20): It looks like sign-up has been covered
