The student is studying art history and glass design at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Ireland. She would like to attend an upcoming glass art conference in June to broaden her understanding of glass as an art form, network with glass artists, and see examples of student work. Attending the conference and visiting the Corning Glass Museum would provide invaluable learning opportunities as she decides her future career path. She requests consideration for a scholarship to make it possible to attend the conference.

I am a final-year student in the National College of Art and Design,
Dublin, Ireland, studying for a BA in history of art and design and craft design (glass). This joint honours degree combines study of visual culture with studio practice.
I would like to attend your conference in June because I feel it would
broaden my understanding of the use of glass as an art form. It would provide me with an invaluable opportunity to network with glass artists and craftspeople working in the area. As I graduate this year, I have to make decisions about my future direction and talking to people who are already established would undoubtedly help.
I would also benefit from viewing the student exhibition at the
conference as it would allow me to see what my international peers are producing. In addition, the location of the conference in Corning would allow me to visit the Corning Glass Museum. This is a rare opportunity to both attend the conference and see this famous museum.
As I live in Ireland, this is an opportunity that I would value highly. I
would be grateful if you would consider my application for a scholarship which would allow me to attend this event.
