Goal: Demonstrate the basic measurements of length, width and height

Objective: Children will compare measurements of items in the classroom

Procedure: Display a ruler, and explain the significant of the numbers. Explain
to the children that a ruler is used to measure. Have the children measure
items, like paper, pencil, crayon, marker and paper clips. Have them record
each measure for each item and compare the measurement using terms like
greater or less then.

Advanced Preparation: Have the items a quantity of each item to measure

List Materials:
Rulers
Paper
Pencils, markers, paper, paper clips
Developmental Benefits: Social, physical (fine motor), language

Future Plans: Have children measure larger items
