Jummah Supplications

Version: Arabic transliteration with English translation

(Supplication at the beginning of the first khutbah)

Innal-hamda lillaah, nahmaduhu wa nastaeenuhu wa nastaghfiruh, wa
naoodhu billaahi min shuroori anfusinaa wa min sayyi-aati amaalinaa,
man yahdihi-llaahu fa laa mudilla lah, wa man yudlilhu fa laa haadiya lah,
wa ash-hadu an laa ilaaha ilallaah, wahdahu laa shareeka lah, wa ash-hadu
anna muhammadan abduhu wa rasooluh.

Truly all praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and ask
His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our selves
and our bad actions. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can turn him
astray. And whomsoever Allah turns astray has none to guide him. I
bear witness that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah, the
Only One without any partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is
His servant and (final) messenger.

Yaa ayyuha-lladheena aamanu-ttaqu-llaaha haqqa tuqaatihi wa laa
tamootunna illaa wa antum muslimoon. [3:102]

Oh you who believe! Be in awe of Allah, as His awesomeness demands,
and do not (let yourselves) die except that you are Muslims.

Yaa ayyuha-nnaasu-ttaqoo rabbakumu-lladhee khalaqakum min nafsin
waahida, wa khalaqa minhaa zowjahaa wa batha minhumaa rijaalan
katheeran wa nisaa-ah, wattaqu-llaaha-lladhee tasaa-aloona bihi wal-
arhaam, innallaaha kaana aleykum raqeebaa. [4:1]

Oh humanity! Be in awe of your Lord who created you from one soul
and from it its mate and spread forth from both of them many men and
women. And be in awe of Allah through Whom you demand (your
rights) of one another, and (do not cut the relations) of the wombs that
bore you. And truly Allah is ever watchful over you.

Yaa ayyuha-lladheena aamanu-ttaqu-llaaha wa qooloo qowlan sadeedaa,
yuslih lakum amaalakum wa yaghfir lakum dhunoobakum, wa man yutii-
llaaha wa rasoolahu faqad faaza fowzan adheemaa. [33:70-71]

Oh you who believe! Be in awe of Allah and speak a straightforward
word. He will repair for you your deeds and forgive you your
wrongdoings. And whosoever obeys Allah and His messenger has
achieved a great success.

(Supplication at the end of the first khutbah)

Aqoolu qowli haadhaa, wastaghfiru-llaaha lee wa lakum wa lisaa-iril-
muslimeen, fastaghfirooh, innahu huwal-ghafooru-rraheem.

I say this, and I seek forgiveness from Allah for me, for all of you, and
for the rest of the Muslims. Ask Him for forgiveness for truly He is the
One who forgives and He is the Most Merciful.

(Supplication at the end of the second khutbah)

Rabbanaa laa tuzigh quloobanaa, bada idh hadeytanaa, wa hablanaa min
ladunka rahma. Innaka antal-wahhaab. [3:8]

Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and
grant us from Yourself mercy. Truly, You are the Grantor of Bounties
without measure.

Ibaad-allaah, inna-llaaha ya-muru bil-adli wal-ihsaan, wa eetaa-i dhil-
qurbaa, wa yanhaa anil-fah-shaa-i wal-munkari wal-baghee, yaidhukum
laallakum tadhakkaroon. [16:90]

Servants of Allah! Surely Allah commands justice, doing good, and
giving generously to friends and family. He forbids all shameful acts,
injustice, and rebellion. He instructs you, so that you may be reminded.

Wa aqimi-ssalaah.

Please stand for the prayer.
