Chemistry Class Expectations

Ms. Wright
I have the following expectations of the students in my classes.
1. Be on time. You should be in your assigned seat when the bell rings.
2. Be ready to learn. You should have your textbook or lab notebook!"
notebook" writing utensil and a calculator with you each day.
#. Be ready to give your best effort. You should have assignments completed to
the best of your ability on the date and time they are due. $ate assignments
will be graded with a penalty determined by the instructor. You should be
prepared to be challenged by the sub%ect matter and to prepare yourself with
consistent studying. Cramming for the test is a method used by the
unprepared student.
&. Be respectful to other students. You should refrain from talking and passing
notes during instruction. 'ny activity that disrupts the class shows a lack of
respect for your classmates. (re)uent trips out of the classroom to use the
restroom are considered a class disruption.
*. Be respectful to staff. You should remain in your assigned seat until the bell
rings. You should not leave the room unless given permission and only with
possession of a pass. You should not sleep during class. You should raise
your hand when you have a )uestion or would like to participate in class.
+. Be careful. You should stay out of the prep room. You should not touch lab
e)uipment" gas valves or sinks unless permitted for lab activities.
,. Be respectful of the DANGER in chemistry class. You should follow all
written and verbal safety guidelines provided to you. You should watch for
safety violations and report those to the instructor immediately.
(ailure to meet these expectations will result in discipline within the classroom.
-epeated failure to follow these guidelines will result in added input from the
administration and your family.
