The pep rally was fun and the cheerleaders danced a lot! The basketball players were great too; its too bad we lost the game. The basketball players were disappointed and so were the cheerleaders. Even though they lost people were stll proud they made it to the fnals. It was a great season and we are so proud of our team. Go Veazie Lions!

For actvites there could also be bouncy houses, ring tosses, you could play truth or dare, face paintng, karaoke, mechanical bulls, you can go swimming at the beach or in your pool. There are LOTS of diferent foods even from diferent cul- tures. Some examples for foods you can munch on can be chuck roast, ribs, hot dogs, ham- burgers, roasted french fries, dough boys, chips, fried ice cream, popsicles, blue berry crisp, brioche loaves, strawberry shortcake, pistachios, cupcakes, double chocolate pudding with caramel sauce or berry lemonade. The ocean is cold in Rhode Island and doesnt usually warm up untl August. A few tps: dont drink the salt water, dont go too deep, dont pass the safe zone and make sure there is always a life guard. Here are some things to do at the beach: have a BBQ with some water and tasty food, go in the water to surf with your family, play football in the water, make sandcastles, play Frisbee, or eat ice cream. 4 TH Grade Bullying by: Carmelo Harmon
The 4 th grade has started an ant-bullying program. I know your probably thinking why they would start an ant-bullying pro- gram. Its to stop bullying from happening. I know this be- cause I had an interview with Mrs. Scorpio. She told me that 4 th grad- ers learned to be upstanders. Upstanders stand up against bullying when they see it. The kids met every week in the cafeteria and worked really hard to learn not to be a bully. Above: 4th graders in 410 are upstanders! Veazie News Page 2 Veazie News Ofcer Mike By: Jose
Ofcer Mike visited Veazie Street School and read a story to the 1 st grade class in 215. The story was The True Story of the Three Litle Pigs! 215 loved it and I did too. As a teacher he was good. Then he showed us his bullets and kids asked questons. One was where do you put the bad guys and he answered that we put the bad guys in jail. It was a great visit and story. Mat Blanchete By Serenity
Mat Blanchete visited Veazie Street School and came to room 413. He read a book for reading week. Each class got a special guest reader and read a book. When I got to the class I introduced myself and asked if I could get some pictures of him and he said sure. I even said that I was part of the newspaper. When he was done people in the class started asking questons and I asked what news he did and he did everything except the weather. Congressman Cicilline By: Alberto
Congressman Cicilline went to room 315 to read a book about his job. His job is about votng for laws so we can be safe and he read a book called House Mouse, Senate Mouse. Also he talked about going to meet the president of the United States every other week. Then he told the class that he lives in a simple place like us because he is al- ways working for us so we can be safe. He got his place by fnishing school so he could have a good job, but people were running for con- gressman so he wanted to do the same. Now he is working for us. Clay Pell Reads to 310 By: Dameion
On April 15,2014 Clay Pell visited 310 and read The Waterfre Duck. The students asked a lot of ques- tons and Clay Pell also had a lot of questons for the children (most of the students answered them). It seems Clay Pell had a great tme at Veazie Street School, and Im sure the students had fun with Clay Pell coming to Veazie. I think Clay Pell is a spectacu- lar infuence because he loves spending tme with people, especially kids. Clay Pell speaks 4 languages, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, and English. Second Grade Reader Lt. Governor Roberts By: Jayonna
The Lt. Governor came to room 309 and the book she read was Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy. I think most of the kids liked the book. When I was taking the pictures most of the children were really trying to get into every picture and I really thought that was funny. The kids in room 309 were very good listeners. It was very cool how all those kids just paid atenton. Now lets talk about Lt. Governor Roberts. She talked a litle about herself. She said that her job was very hard. And a special thing about her is that she has seen President Obama. She is a very nice and friendly person. I think that she really knows how to love children and is very interestng with the kids. She helped us understand the story because she explained the story and how pets are a lot of work to watch.
