AutoCAD, a product from Autodesk is a
Computer Aided Design (CAD) program
used by just about every Engineering and
Design office in the world.
Autodesks is the industrial leader in CAD
packages, used by Civil Engineers,
Mechanical and Electrical Engineers,
Aeronautical Engineers plus many other
disciplines.

Rectangular Array:-
Evenly distributes object copies along a path or a portion of
a path.

SolidWorks is a 3D mechanical CAD program
which was developed by SolidWorks Corporation,
headquartered in USA , a subsidiary of Dassault
System.

SolidWorks provides a full range of integrated
modeling, simulation, visualization;
communication and validation tools that
production designers need to develop better
products faster and at low cost.

The sketch fillet tool trims away the corner at the
intersection of two sketch entities to create a tangent arc.

Sketch Fillet
The Sketch Chamfer tool applies a chamfer to adjacent
sketch entities.

Sketch Chamfer

The Lofted command creates a feature by blending more
than one similar or dissimilar sections together to get a
free form shape
Lofted Boss/Base Feature:-
Rib adds material of a specified thickness, in a specified
direction between the contour and an existing part.

Creating Rib Feature
The Revolved Feature creates
the Boss/Base features by
revolving the sketch about a
revolution axis.

Revolved Boss/Base Feature
The Swept Boss/Base command is used to create a
feature by moving a closed profile along an open or a
closed path.

Advantages of AutoCAD & SolidWorks
Engineering Drawings developed manually had more
scope of errors. Overruling this shortcoming, drawings
developed by AutoCAD are precise and accurate up to a
greater extent.

Productivity is boosted by a CAD program enabling you to
easily draw polygons, ellipses, multiple parallel lines and
multiple parallel curves that comprise a design.
Various automatic features like fillets and chamfers helps
in increasing the speed of drawing.

Copy, Rotate and Mirror facilities also come very handy
while drawing symmetrical parts.
