ARCHITECTURAL
AUTOCAD SOFTWARE
• Structural softwares help to analysis and design the structural members.
• Architectural softwares mainly focus on planning, designing of interior and
exteriors.
• Softwares is mainly classified into three types in civilengineering:-
1. Project management.
2. Based on structural.
3. Based on architecture.
WHAT IS AUTOCAD?
• AutoCAD is a 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Drafting Software
application used in Architecture,Construction and
Manufacturing to assist in the preparation of Drawings,
Blueprints and other Engineering Layouts.
LANGUAGES
AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT are available for English, German, French, Italian,
Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Brazilian
Portuguese, Russian, Czech, Polish and Hungarian(also through additional
language packs).
The extent of localization varies from full translation of the product to
documentation only. The AutoCAD command set is localized as a part of the
software localization.
SHORTCUT COMMANDS
FUNCTION KEY
STARTING WITH COMMANDS

• LINE •RECTANGLE
• GRID •POLYGON
• SNAP •CIRCLE
•ARC
• ORTHO
• OFFSET
ADVANTAGES OF AUTOCAD
• Draw to Scale
• Easy Layout and Viewing
• Draw Accurately
• Make Changes Easily and Reduce Risk of Error
• Identify Design Problems
• Calculate Material Quantities for Production
• Store and Transfer Data Safely
• Save Time and Money
DISADVANTAGES OF AUTOCAD
• Initial cost is high
• Fully Grasping of software takes time
• Need strong computer processing power
• Limited file formats
• Colour , Fill, Texture
• Not really suitable of 3D works
• Non- Parametric
Layers in AutoCAD, & its uses
• Layer is a object management system by which we can separate the object’s in a
drawing according to their functions.
• For examples creating a Door in different layer & also for window, diamensions ,
text etc.
• Layers is used to control the visibility of the object and to assign properties such as
color and linetype.
HATCH

• In home tab use hatch pannel for hatching

• Specify a point in an area that is enclosed by objects.
• Select objects that enclose an area.
• Specify boundary points using the - HATCH Draw option.
• Drag a hatch pattern into an enclosed area from a tool palette or Design CenterIn the
following illustration, the concrete hatches are bounded, while the earth hatches
• are unbounded. By default, bounded hatches are associative, which means that the
hatch object is associated withhatch
• boundary objects: changes to the boundary objects are automatically applied to the
hatch. No associative hatches are not updated when their original boundary is
change
FOR EXAMPLE
 It is a professional 3D computer graphics program for making
3D animations, models.
 It is developed and produced by autodesk, Inc.
 many TV commercial studios and architectural visualization
studios
 have all important tools
for modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, rendering and
dynamics.
• Revit projects are created with families. For example, the structural members,
walls, roofs, windows, and doors that you use to assemble a building model
• AUTODESK Revit family consist of THREE software
• 1) REVIT STRUCTURES
• 2) REVIT MEP
• 3) REVIT ARCHI
• Revit is a single application built for Building InformationModeling with
features for architectural design, MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing)
and structural engineering and construction.
• Revit is not BIM. Revit is built for BIM
RHINO
• Rhinoceros (typically abbreviated Rhino, or Rhino3D)
• It is a commercial 3D computer graphics and computer-aided design (CAD)
• This software developed by Robert McNeel & Associates.
• computer-aided design (CAD)
• computer-aided manufacturing (CAM)
• rapid prototyping & 3D printing.
• Reverse engineering in industries including architecture, industrial design
(e.g. automotive design, watercraft design).
• Rhinoceros NURBS modeling for Windows 41
ARCHI CAD
• ARCHICAD is the leading Building Information
Modeling (BIM) software application
• developed by the Hungarian company Graphisoft.
• used by architects, designers, engineers and builders
to professionally design, document and collaborate
on building project
• GRAPHISOFT Since its release over 30 years ago,
• Used primarily in construction industries to
complement 3D design packages (such as Autodesk
Revit, AutoCAD, and Micro Station) Navisworks
allows users to open and combine 3Dmodets
• Marketed and developed by AUTO DESK.
• Importing all type of files
• Merging all files create a model
LUMION
• visualization and story telling are the key to designing great things.
• A great visual presentation is one of the best ways to
communicate with your client and make them emotional about
your design.
• Lumion is software that makes it possible for every architect to
create videos, images and 360 panoramas.
• 61 Of the top 100 architect companies in the world are customers
of Lumion.
GOOGLE SKETCHUP
• Sketch Up (formerly Google Sketch up)
• Sketch Up is currently owned by Trimble Navigation
• 3D modeling computer program
• architectural, interior design, landscape architecture
• There is an online open source library of free model
assemblies (e.g. windows, doors, automobiles), 3D
Warehouse
CANVAS
• Canvas X (formerly Canvas) is a drawing, imaging, and
publishing computer program
• CANVASCD Systems for personal computers.
• IOS systems
• 64 plat form
• Scanning
• Export to CAD
