Salary: Grade 2 (16,577 19,083 p.a. pro rata) Temporary (minimum of 12 months) The University of Manchester are currently recruiting a Teaching and Learning Receptionist / Timetabling Assistant to work on the Teaching and Learning Office and Divisional receptions, alongside other Reception staff; providing administrative support to academic and teaching staff, and students. The duties of the job include:
To deal with enquiries by telephone, email and face-to-face. To assist with the receipt and processing of coursework and examination scripts. To assist with the receipt of information from students to support their mitigating circumstances applications. To clearly and effectively communicate with students. To ensure that copies of all relevant forms are up to date and appropriately stocked Working as part of the Teaching and Learning team To liaise with the Student Systems Office to ensure the accuracy of data relating to the UG programmes To assist with course unit selection procedures, inputting data as necessary. To assist in the production of information for general UG handbooks, directories of course units, programme handbooks and teaching aids.

Experience within a similar role. Secretarial or administrative experience A knowledge of databases, preferably Microsoft Access, Excel and Oracle Experience of working co-operatively, flexibly and effectively as part of a team in a busy office. Experience of arranging meetings and maintaining an appointments diary Excellent organisational skills, including an attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Excellent IT skills Good communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral The ability to deal sensitively with confidential information The ability to use your own initiative Flexibility and adaptability to new circumstances and change Willing to undergo training as required A commitment to delivering a high-quality service to both students and staff in the School
