Job Description Job Responsibilities: The Computer Lab Instructor will be responsible for teaching students various computer concepts at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Essential Job Functions Facilitate learning of Windows operating system and PC technology Facilitate learning of Microsoft Office and use of these MS applications (Excel, Work(Word), PowerPoint, , Outlook and others). Facilitate use of the internet and email for research and job hunting purposes. Facilitate the learning/development of typing skills for all computer class participants. Teach up 16-20 hours of instructor led instruction per week. Be adept at creating lesson plans for the classes. Maintain positive rapport with all students and create a positive learning environment. Implement and enforce organizational policies and procedures for lab operations. Act as an advisor and provide technical assistance to support students and staff that require IT training or assistance. Perform administrative duties as required such as: ordering textbooks and instructional supplies; keeping student records, produce accurate attendance reports, etc. Instructor will also conduct a Job Hunting Skills class for participants which will include online career exploration, resume writing, and online job applications. Monitor computer lab as required.

Required Skills Bachelors degree required. MOUS certification a plus. 2-4 year experience teaching. Possess a strong knowledge of IT. Highly organized and dependable. Excellent computer aptitude and experience with basic teaching technology projectors, the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), Internet and social networking sites. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in written and oral form in English. Ability to provide classes in Spanish. Strong collaborative skills, high energy, excellent follow-up skills, and highly effective relationship building skills are required. Proven ability to work in a culturally diverse context. Ability to keep accurate records including attendance records and tracking records to monitor the success of each student as required by the grant. Position requires good organizational skills, high creativity and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
