Role Title: Receptionist / Admin 32.

5 hours per week Term time only, Band 2 (14,733 to 16,054 pro-rata)

Typically reports to Headteachers PA

Purpose of the role (job statement) To assist the Governors and Headteacher in providing a welcoming, efficient and effective Reception service to the School and to support Student Services as required. Principal Specific Responsibilities To cover the School Reception area; welcoming visitors, answering the telephone, ensuring all calls are handled promptly and efficiently, and generally ensuring that the Reception area is tidy and welcoming To receive and send e-mails and forward appropriately To control and administer access to school in accordance with safeguarding procedures To receive and disseminate post and parcels To frank and record outgoing mail To administer the Mini Bus booking system in Google Calendars. To deal with staff, parents/carers, pupils and outside agencies in a professional manner. To maintain a Visitors Log and issue Visitors badges. To encourage students positive attitudes and behaviour in and around School. To promote a professional image of the School with students, parents and the wider community. To undertake administrative duties as directed by the Headteachers PA. To undertake any training courses or to develop new skills as required for the post, in line with the Performance Management procedures. Provide effective support for students when required To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Headteacher. Regularly review own practice, set personal targets and take responsibility for own personal development. Indicative qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience Excellent knowledge and practical skills in using Microsoft Office including EXCEL essential. Experience of working in a busy Reception environment. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Awareness of the requirements of the Data Protection Act and of Safeguarding Children. Good keyboarding skills essential. Ability to establish effective working relationships with young people and colleagues at all levels. JD Created Oct 2012 D J Cornall
