Reading: We will continue using our reading series and
working in small groups. Our comprehension strategy will be
make predictions, our comprehension skill will be character,
setting, and plot, and our vocabulary strategy will be
prefixes. We will be reading different stories and discussing
How do animals survive?
High frequency words: because, cold, family, friends, have

Vocabulary words (tested): adapt- to adjust to a new

Language Arts: This week we will begin talking about
nouns. Please review with your child that nouns are places,
people, animals, or things.
Theme: We will be discussing needs vs. wants. Needs are
things we must have to live. Wants are things we would like
to have, but dont need them to live.
Math: Rocket Math seems to be working. I can see the
progress from the practice you are doing at home. Keep
up the hard work.
We are beginning Chapter 3. In chapter 3 we will be
really focusing on the relationship of small numbers.
Hopefully, this chapter will help even more with our facts.
We will be heavily practicing fact families, ways to find 10,
and doubles facts.
