Picture Day is Wednesday, October 15th

Conferences
I would like to meet with every students family before the end of October. Below are
the afternoons when I will be available after school. Please call the office to sign up
for a 30-minute time slot. If there is a conflict that prevents you from meeting with
me at any of these times, please let me know and we will find another time. Please
note that some of these time slots may not be available any longer.

Math Facts
We have been doing a lot of math facts practice in the mornings to increase our math
fluency. As the year progresses, more and more math concepts will be built upon
basic math fact knowledge, accuracy, and speed. The more automatic math facts are
for your child, the smoother the transition will be into more difficult equations,
multiplication, and division.
Friday Fun
We are beginning to schedule folks to visit our classroom on Fridays between 12:30
and 1:15. We have had people offer to read to us, share interests, and we have yoga
scheduled! Please let us know if you would be interested in sharing your passion or
talent with us.
Explorers
Our explorer research is off to a wonderful start! Weve learned a ton of surprising
facts about Christopher Columbus. We also learned about Columbus discovery
through the eyes of a Taino boy, a Native American tribe that Columbus encountered,
