Texting is Killing Our Language 08/21/14

UWRT 1103

Notes:
-texting is NOT killing our
language
-writing is completely
different from speaking
-language is speech
-speech is talking like
writing
-texting is writing like you
speak
-texting is fingered speech
-LOL is a version of
empathy
-Slash is a new info marker
-Bilingual cognitively good
for you

My Response:
-I believe he is completely
right. Just because we text
with terrible grammar does
not mean that we cannot
write correctly.
-It is surprising to hear an
adult speak like that about
teenagers texting in
todays time.
-Most adults believe that
texting is so ignorant when
this man believes it is like a
whole new language,
which I do not agree with.

Their Response:
-I agree with you but I also
believe that teenagers
need to know when to
speak like during a text or
speaking in person. Other
than that teenagers keep
evolving this idea of texting
as a new language.
