principles to guide professional practices. Practice 2.1 Recognize and manage personal values in a way that allows professional values to guide practice. When gathering information from a resident I will use professional values instead of personal values. For example: Resident complaining about everything her land lord and handicap ramp, we provided her with information regarding her complaints. Practice 2.2 Make ethical decisions by applying standards of the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics and, as applicable, of the International Federation of Social Workers/ International Association of School of Social Work Ethics in Social Work, Statement of Principles. I will refer to the code of ethics when any ethical dilemma or uncertainly on any practice behaviors. If I can not find the answer in this I will ask in class or my supervisor. Practice 2.3 Tolerate ambiguity in resolving ethical conflict. I will be working with other professionals (nurses, doctors), that do not understand social work code of ethics and I will find different ways and techniques to resolve the dilemma. Practice 2.4 Apply Strategies of ethical reasoning to arrive at principled decisions. Work daily with my supervisor to learn techniques on ethical strategies to apply in direct practice while working with residents.
