Students also connect with balloon example because it is fun.
Teacher is giving instructions and allowing students to work either independently or in groups. Teacher is walking around observing the students as they work, only correcting when the whole group seems to be lost. Teacher is integrating native language (Spanish) to assist in getting the students to understand key points and directions. Teacher uses balloon to model If/Then statements. By using this, allows the students to see a visual example, with an obvious outcome (If I let this pin touch the balloon, then it will pop).
