Unit 4 Lithosphere: Plate tectonics
Video #1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mWQs1_L3fA
I chose this video mainly because it seemed to fit the description I wanted for a video that talked
about plate tectonics. I learned information dealing with divergent, convergent and transform
boundaries, explaining how each happened in great detail. I fully agree with the information
shown in the video, it covers all the boundaries that we have discussed and learned in class
already while giving a visual representation. The visual portion of the video as it played helped
me a lot when trying to understand what happens at each boundary.
Quiz #1
1. What is subduction?
2. What is the difference between convergent and divergent boundaries?
3. What is the name of the boundary that deals with plates moving past one another?
4. Is the mantle as hot as the outer core?
5. What is the Earths most outer layer?

Quiz #1 Answer
1. Subduction is when one plate moves beneath another.
2. Divergent- away Convergent- together
3. Transform boundary
4. No
5. The Earths crust
Video #2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbU809Cyrao
I chose this video because in this unit I remembered talking about Alfred Wegener when talking
about continental drift. I learned background information to Alfreds full adventure and what he
went through when trying to explain to other people his theory. After watching this video I feel
more informed and high educated about Alfreds theory of continental drift. I agree with the
video a lot, because it went more into depth than the textbook did, while giving you a visual
representation. This relates to what we are learning in class a lot because in class we have
already discussed Alfreds theories and the basic over view of his struggle to get others to
believe him and his theory.
Quiz #2
1. Why did the other scientist not believe Alfred?
2. Where was Alfred when he fully developed his theory?
3. What year did he fully develop his theory?
4. Were similar fossils ever found at different locations?
5. Did Alfred write a book based on the information he found?
Douglas3

Quiz #1 Answer
1. Because Alfred could not explain or prove how the plates moved.
2. In a hospital
3. 1914
4. Yes
5. Yes
