Description

Galer Elementary School is located in Beaufort, South Carolina, and educates 226 students of
military families from three military installations (MCAS Beaufort, MCRD Parris Island, and
Naval Hospital Beaufort). Galer Elementary is a primary school consisting of two prekindergarten
classes, four kindergarten classes, three first grade classes, and two second grade classes. The total
staff involved in the training program will be nine to eleven teachers. The school in currently in
their accreditation year through AdvancED and will be inspected in late April2015. The school's
vision statement focuses on collaboration and students becoming 21st century learners.
Introducing and training the staff on the implementation of Google Apps for Education in their
classrooms will assist the teachers and students in becoming 21st century learners through the use
of this tool.

The staff of Galer Elementary School (GES) requires the skills and tools needed to successfully
implement technology through the use of Google Apps for Education (GAfE). I will work to
assess the needs of the staff in an effort to curtail a training program that will result in teachers
using GAfE effectively in their classrooms. Develop training methods and tools that will be
delivered on an individualized and small group basis. Create training materials that will support
the instruction being given. Design assessments for the teachers to demonstrate their knowledge
of what they have learned using GAfE. Learning how to effectively implement this tool will
increase the use of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity in the
classroom.
