Highlights
Weekly



Social Studies

Students continued to

learn about bodies of
water, landforms, and
map/globe features

(such as the color of land


and water on a map, the
equator, latitude and
longitude lines, and the
North and South pole).
Theyre working diligently
on their own maps,
which now include a
compass rose, ocean,
continent, and islands!


Reading/Writing

Students began learning


about the history behind
Thanksgiving. After learning
about the pilgrims journey
on the Mayflower, students
wrote an opinion piece
about whether they would
take the journey to the
New World.
Students word work
included brainstorming,
reading, and writing words
with short /e/.

Students continued
