Math Corner

Students leaned a new


number game, Dot Addition. This
game promotes a deep
understanding of number
combinations (ie. combinations of
2 or more addends for 6, 8, 10,
and 12), with an emphasis on
counting on as a strategy for
finding combinations.
They continued to work on
strategically solving problems and
showing their thinking/justifying
their answer using drawings with
number labels and words.
Finally, we discussed strategies for
completing a series of fast math
facts (addition and subtract
problems that need to be solved
quickly).
