Lobster News

This weeks curriculum highlights:


Language Arts
During reading reform: ea (3sounds), oa
Words of the week are: each, read, goal
Writers Workshop:
Kindergartners will be starting a
brand new writing unit! The focus
for this month will be persuasive writing.

We had such a busy week with our bake sale, nature


walk, visit with Linda Sue park and making our 3D
models.

Math: We will:
-continue working on story problems
and adding in math.
-learn how to tally in order to collect data
about transport that passes by our school.
Reflecting on Living things
We will be sharing our 3D habitats that we
made and reflecting on what we learned
throughout the unit.
Unit of Inquiry-Transportation
We will work on transportation systems by
setting up some real life situations and
working out how best to transport goods and
other things in different challenging
circumstances.

Meeting Linda Sue Park. She told us all about how she
gets ideas for stories, the editing process, and taught
us clapping game in Korean.

Special Days
In Canada, Mexico and the United States, Mothers Day
is celebrated on the second Sunday in May which is on
Sunday May 10th

Mother's Day is a holiday that recognizes and celebrates


motherhood in general and the positive contributions of
mothers to society.
It is observed on various dates throughout the year, in
many different countries. Happy Mothers Day May 10th
