Theresa Catholic School Kindergarten Week In Review

Date: September 27, 2013

Highlights
Kindergarten listed words with the beginning sound of R,r. We introduced Work on Writing in Daily 5 and practiced finding and writing R,r words around the classroom. The students provided information to make a chart comparing the differences between the country and the city. They listened to the story, The Country Mouse and the City Mouse, and watched the video. They learned about descriptive words. We continued our study of apples with the story, Ten Apples on Top and drew a picture of apples on a lions head, counting them and practicing writing numbers. In Everyday Math, the children created shape collages and identified matching objects in a shape feely box. We also learned direction words.

Faith Formation
God Loves You! We discussed the many ways that God shows his love for us and the ways we can show our love for others. Reminding ourselves how we learn through our senses, we talked about how we can show our love using our senses. The lesson in our Promise magazine this week helps the children understand what Jesus message about sharing means to them. We can all share this world with each other. We need to notice poor people and help them. Whether it be time, treasure, or talent we all have something to share.
